Our story
Defining Cycle Awareness
During that time, I thought about how amazing it would be if our daughters had a fertility awareness charting system all their own . . . an age-appropriate way to track their cycles, accurately pinpoint and identify the menstrual period, and learn about how their bodies work. I thought about how even more amazing it would be if mothers could use this system to monitor their daughters' reproductive health . . . giving them a way to detect cycle irregularities early-on so that they can get their daughters proper treatment, avoiding years of use of the pill and subsequent reproductive damage. And finally, I thought, about how awesome it would be if the girls could learn everything from MOM! And so, the Blossom, Bloom, and Beauty Revealed programs were born.
Over the next 11 years, our ministry grew from simply teaching classes in the New Orleans area to an organization that included
What is cycle awareness?
The beauty of the
feminine design
Fertility Education is all about learning how the female body works! But, it is also about so much more than that . . . Learning about the gift of fertility is also about discovering who you are. Fertility Education teaches women about how they were created; it teaches them about their unique feminine design. Learning about the gift of fertility is all about discovering what it means to be a woman and coming to understand God’s plan for femininity. Cycle awareness gives girls a true vision of the gift of fertility and God’s plan for femininity, in an age-appropriate way.

Our symbol
The Cherry Blossom
Sakura is the Japanese name for cherry blossom, a beautiful soft-pink or white, 5-petaled flower, which blooms for a short time each spring on the flowering cherry tree. Although all cherry trees produce blossoms, the flowering cherry tree is different from the fruiting cherry tree in that it is cultivated for ornamental purposes.
Flowering cherry trees have both a great history and a rich symbolism and have played an important and influential role in Japanese culture and tradition for hundreds of years. For the Japanese, the cherry blossom is a symbol of the great beauty and fragility of life. Cherry blossom trees first arrived in our country in 1912 as a gift from the People of Japan to the People of the United States and were planted in Washington, D.C. Today, the stunning trees continue to grace our nation’s capital and an annual festival is held there each year when the sakura bloom.
For Cherry Blossom Teen Charting, the sakura is much more than a beautiful flower. Both its lifecycle and its symbolism draw parallels to the female gift of fertility:
Each spring, the flowering cherry tree bursts into full bloom, lending the world an ephemeral show of unsurpassing beauty, a reminder of how precious and fragile life is. Like the cherry blossom, a woman’s fertility is a priceless gift, one of unsurpassing beauty, a gift that deserves to be respected, reverenced, cherished, and protected.
The flowering cherry tree stays in bloom for only a week or two. Like the flowering cherry, a woman with typical cycles stays in the fertile time for only a week or two.

A Letter from
our director
Dear Mothers,
Cherry Blossom Teen Charting was written from the heart of a mother. I created the program because I want my daughters to truly understand the meaning of their femininity. I want them to come to see how their femininity and fertility are innately intertwined and to embrace the feminine design as a gift. I want them to see that the gift of their fertility is to be reverenced, respected, cherished, and protected. And finally, when they go to an NFP class for the first time, I want them to assent to the Church’s teachings with joy.
